Catalina
The original Hotel Metropole, built in 1888 by one of Catalina's early landowners, was Avalon's jewel-in-the-crown. Visitors from far and wide flocked to enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere and elegant accommodations offered by this island landmark. Now, the tradition continues on the site of the original hotel, in today's Hotel Metropole.
