Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Angela's journey began in 1996 while attending college at Western Washington University. She happened to show up to a class by accident, and found a yogi instead of a dance instructor. She was in awe of the beauty, grace, and strength that yoga encompassed, and was in love with the practice from that moment on. After traveling and living life's adventures, she became pregnant with her first son and fell in love with yoga all over again during her pregnancy while attending prenatal classes. It was shortly after her son was born, in 2002, Angela decided she would like to learn more in order to share the passion, the knowledge, and the history of yoga. She became a certified teacher in the embrace of Yoga West and it was there that the caterpillar became the butterfly. She has been in the presence of many gurus and shamans and yogis who have all been significant in the devotion for the practice. Specifically, her annual pilgrimage to Mata Amritanadamayi and receiving her sacred name, was one of the most blessed of experiences. She has had the honor of practicing with and learning from;David and Doug Swenson, John Friend, Robert Boustany, and countless other yogis who have given inspiration. Angela came to Catalina Island by way of love, as she met her husband on a plane, sitting next to him, on her way to California. She began donation based practices (as she feels that no one should be denied the bliss of yoga simply because of monetary difficulties) and the yoga kula became alive and strong. Angela credits her inspiration in teaching from the selfless service in love from Amma, her love for dance and artistic graceful movement, and the total joy and unconditional love from her husband and her three boys.
