Free Concert Series
March-Sept
Rock out to fantastic cover bands, Woodstock tributes and more at this beachside concert series. This family-friendly event takes place at the Wrigley Stage in Avalon and is free to attend.
Summer Beach Bingo
On of the highlights of the summer on Catalina Island, grab your chair and head to South Beach Lifeguard stand every Tuesday, Thursday from 6:00-7:00pm starting June 18th through August 29th. $1 bingo cards each and you can win fun prizes from local businesses.
Rock 2 Rock
June 30
Challenge yourself with this 22-mile paddleboard race benefiting The Ocean of Hope Campaign. Race solo or as a relay team and race from Two Harbors on Catalina Island to San Pedro, CA. Participants receive pre and post-race meals and goodie bags!
Kid’s Fishing Derby
Every Wednesday, kids can bring a rod and reel to join in the fishing fun at the pier. During this FREE event, kids can fish with the help of the fishing guide and win prizes. Every Wednesday on the pier from 7-9am.
Movies at the Museum
Throughout the summer, the Catalina Island Museum hosts outdoor Movies at the Museum at the Ackerman Family Amphitheater. This summer, films feature or mention Catalina Island. Wine, beer and select movie snacks will be available for purchase or you may bring your own. Movies are from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Members $5, Non-Members: $17 for Adults, $15 for Seniors,
Free for Children (15 & under).
4th of July Parade and Firework Display
July 4
Celebrate Independence Day with this jam-packed day of patriotic activities. The event features live music, dancing, food and beverages, multiple parades and finishes off with a dazzling firework display.
71st Annual Catalina Ski Race
July 20
Watch as water skis from around the globe race in this premier racing event. As the only open ski event on the globe, this race brings people from all across the world to cheer on their favorite competitors and enjoy a day out on the water.
Catalina Wine Mixer
September 6
Indulge in wine, music, food and dancing at this crowd-pleasing event. Held at a beautiful beachside club, Catalina Wine Mixer is quickly becoming one of the most popular wine and music events out there, sample fine wines and find a new favorite to bring home before settling down for the annual showing of Step Brothers.
Microbrew Festival
September 7
Sip on delicious microbrews while enjoying live music on the beach at the annual Microbrews Festival! Sample microbrews from around the world poured by over 30 breweries. All proceeds from the event benefit Avalon High School through the Sophie Tarbuck Scholarship Fund.
