Catalina Island Museum will Close Temporarily for Exhibition Installation

The Catalina Island Museum is preparing to host its first museum wide exhibition since the opening of the Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Building. It is reported that the exhibition will be presenting works of the international artist, Dale Chihuly and it will be a great achievement for the museum. The Chihuly exhibition at the Catalina Island Museum will start on March 26 and will run through December 11, 2017.

The museum will modify its operating hours temporarily between March 15-19, to accommodate the installations of the Chihuly exhibition. The authorities said that the museum would be closed for two or three days for the same. The landscaped gardens, canyon views, atriums, and the clear waters around Catalina Island offer a direct link to nature, and the museum will offer an ideal setting for the sculptures of Chihuly.

Chihuly at the Catalina Island Museum exhibition will be opened to the public on March 26 at 10 am. Member of the Catalina Island museum are invited to preview the exhibition before it is opened to the public on Saturday, March 25 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Some of the most iconic works of Chihuly, including reeds, Seaforms, Mille Fiori, Chandeliers, and many more, will be displayed at the exhibition. In addition, there will be a book signing with the artist, which is scheduled to take place from 11 am to 12 pm. Books can be bought from the Museum Store, but you should be a member of the museum to take advantage of the opportunity. Museum membership is available for just forty-five dollars.

Friends and members of the museum’s Patrons Society will be the first to experience the exhibition at night in an evening reception. They will also meet Dale Chihuly at the event, which will feature passed hors d’oeuvres, a no host bar and live music event by American operatic tenor Dennis McNeil. The tickets for the event will also include a book about Dale Chihuly, which will be signed by the artist.
