Check Out the Summer Concert Series In Catalina

The overall appeal of a holiday package always includes calm weather, beautiful surroundings, and soothing music (or silence, if that is your thing). Catalina Island is one place where you can always seize that blessed combo, which is why this is such a popular getaway for people from and beyond the urban setting of California.

Just the storied hills are enough to spend a whole day staring at, and then there is plenty of local fauna to view as well. If you are looking to learn some of the local history, then the Casino Building is one place you shouldn’t miss. For people, whose idea of unwinding is more physical, there is the Descanso Beach Club, located along the sandy shore and looking out at the clear waters of the Pacific.

Relax to the beat of live tunes over a special night series here, and enjoy some classy music performed by Smash Mouth on Saturday, May 28. This is on the Memorial Day Weekend, so if you are headed to Catalina for just the three days, this concert won’t disappoint. The beach club is perfect place for outdoor lounging, with cabanas, palms, loungers, and easily available dining and drinking choices.

The Concert Calendar For May

Musical performances will continue through summer, and will feature Toad the Wet Sprocket & Rusted Root on July 8, with The Wailers topping off the whole thing on Sept 3. That is already Labor Day Weekend, and before even getting to it, you will be able to catch a performance by Coleman Hell on Aug 12.

Concerts are arranged by The Santa Catalina Island Company, so get your ticket ahead of time and make sure you fix passage to the island. It is also possible to reserve a cabana if your prefer it.

Don’t miss your favorite act, and if you are partial to luxury accommodations, get a suite at Hotel Metropole, one of the finest hotels Catalina Island has to offer. That way, you will be able to freshen up for each night of the concert series in the most luxurious setting.
