Mt. Ada Will be Open to the Visitors Once Again

The Santa Catalina Island Company has announced that they will be opening the former home of William Wrigley Jr., Mt. Ada, once again to the visitors on December 8, 2016. The Company is opening the venue for a Holiday Open House, which aims to benefit the Avalon Rotary Club and Catalina Island Foundation.

The event will highlight the partnership between non-profit organizations and businesses, which are jointly working together to improve and boost the quality of life on Catalina Island. In addition to that, this event will also celebrate the 80th anniversary of Avalon Rotary Club Foundation and the 100th anniversary of the Rotary International Foundation.

President and CEO of Santa Catalina Island Company, Randy Herrel, said, “All of us at Santa Catalina Island Company are thankful for the incredible support the Catalina Island Foundation and Avalon Rotary Club have given to our local community. It’s an honor and a pleasure to give something back by opening the doors of Mt. Ada for this special holiday celebration.”

Just like the previous year, the Catalina Island Foundation will raise funds through the event for local civic groups. Reports say that the Foundation is looking to raise funds by offering a few raffle tickets, which will offer an opportunity for the visitors to enjoy a one-night stay at the luxurious guestrooms of Mt. Ada. In addition to that, local businesses have donated raffle tickets for gift baskets, which will also be available to the visitors.

The guests, who are arriving at the Mt. Ada for the event, will be greeted with a warm welcome and a docent-led tour of each six-guest rooms. After completing the tour, the guests will get a chance to enjoy the wassail, home baked cookies, sing carols, and enjoy the ambience and beauty offered by Mt. Ada.

President of Avalon Rotary Club Foundation, Christy Lins, said, “We’re thankful to have the opportunity to work with CIF on the Holiday Open House this year, and I think it’s a great way to celebrate the milestones of our Club and Rotary International, as well as all the tremendous community support all three organizations provide.”
